Chris Wills

Founder and Chief Energizing Officer

Chris grew up in the small town of Sauk Centre, Minn., and as the oldest child, he and his parents learned many things the hard way when it came to the transition to life after high school. After reflecting on the questions and challenges he faced, Chris found he had a passion to help students not make the same mistakes he did and co-founded Student Paths in 1997 as a college student. The organization has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of students and has a goal to impact 3 million students per year.

Outside of Student Paths, Chris is passionate about tennis, running, cross country skiing, Duke basketball, the outdoors and international travel, having visited over 30 countries (and counting).

Chris graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minn., and lives with his wife, Vanessa, and two sons.

Jim Sang

Partner and Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Jim was inspired by his parents, John and Joyce, who worked four jobs so he could attend the University of St. Thomas, where he received the entrepreneur of the year award as a senior. Jim has 20 years of experience working with hundreds of higher education and military leaders to meet their recruitment needs.

Outside of Student Paths, Jim enjoys spending time on the water boating and fishing, pheasant & deer hunting, grilling, and listening to outlaw country music.

Jim graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Entrepreneurship and lives with his wife Sara, and two daughters.

Matthew Andrews, Ph.D.

Director of Strategic Content Development

Matthew designs, implements, and assesses innovative, educational programs that engage students of all ages in lifelong learning. He has used clinical interviews and online surveys in a four-year longitudinal study to understand how adolescents develop a sense of purpose in the world. His research suggests that educational policy in America needs to focus on student motives beyond grades in classrooms and performances on standardized tests toward cultural and moral inspirations in life.
